Flange Gaskets: Material, Thickness, Cutting

Article

A flange gasket looks simple but fails loudly if the material is wrong.

Oil/fuel → oil-resistant sheet/NBR. Hot water/steam → EPDM or steam grades.

Thickness often 2–5 mm — too thick extrudes, too thin will not seal uneven faces.

We cut bolt holes and custom shapes from drawing or old sample.

Series flanges — order a kit; one-offs — sheet cutting can be same day.

Send a flange drawing or gasket photo with a ruler.

A gasket copies the flange face: bore, bolt holes, thickness. DXF or a template comes from the mating flange, not a guessed DN.

Water — EPDM; oil — MBS/NBR; steam by temperature. One sheet for every medium swells.

Bolt load and flange warp matter more than an extra millimetre of thickness. A warped flange is a metal problem.

Series cuts include hole-pattern checks. Agreed jobs are typically 3–5 business days.
